Measuring some 66-square-metres, The Walled Garden at The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa is a unique outdoor venue – and the only one of its kind in the city – ideal for private functions. Paved in pennant stone and planted with muted pallets of whites and greens, the venue offers a neutral coloured backdrop to perfectly accompany any colour scheme. From cocktail and canapé receptions, to al fresco afternoon teas, barbecues, luncheons and dinners, as well as informal meetings, The Royal Crescent Hotel and Spa has a dedicated Events Team, for whom no guest request is too large, nor detail too small. Fine wines, Taittinger Champagne, expertly mixed cocktails and AA 3 Rosette award-winning dining unite with five-star service to create the ultimate setting.

Designed by local architect Nick Shipp, The Walled Garden has been carefully crafted by Bath landscape designer Alison Jenkins, who previously worked her green-fingered magic on the hotel’s ‘The Taittinger Spa Garden’ in 2015. Forming part of the hotel’s stunning one acre of secluded gardens, it was newly landscaped and planted during the winter of 2015/16 and now offers a dynamic combination of perennials and grasses contrasting with the more solid structure of yew topiary. Classic English climbers including roses and honeysuckle ascend the walls, creating a fragrant environment.

Stepping out directly onto The Walled Garden, the four-bedroom Garden Villa can become guests’ own private residence within The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa’s one acre of stunning secluded gardens, in which to enjoy a truly luxurious and bespoke experience with family, friends or colleagues. Accommodating up to 10 people, it includes two classic bedrooms and two luxury suites, making it the perfect private venue.

General Manager, Jonathan Stapleton, comments: “We are thrilled to finally be unveiling The Walled Garden, and to be able to offer guests a truly unique outdoor venue in the city, perfect for bespoke private functions and celebrations in the heart of Bath. This dedicated walled venue paired with the expertise of our expert events team offers a personal experience which is all part of the bespoke celebrations and events offering available at The Royal Crescent Hotel and Spa.”

Sol Zakay, Executive Chairman and CEO of Topland Group also comments: “The Walled Garden has created an excellent space to complement the new facilities of the hotel. I am very pleased to see this phase of Topland’s investment conclude and add another great space to the refurbished hotel and spa. The hotel continues to receive commendations and no doubt guests will have a great opportunity to enjoy this new space.”
