VERDANT ACHIEVES COMPLETION

11/02/2025

Sol Zakay’s Topland Group has successfully completed the ESG-led development of Verdant at 150 Aldersgate, in the heart of London.

Verdant, 150 Aldersgate – delivered in partnership with Beltane Asset Management – sets the benchmark for sustainability and employee wellbeing, having achieved BREAAM Excellent certification and EPC ‘A’. The project retained and repurposed around 80% of the building’s existing structure, significantly reducing on-site energy consumption. Additionally, the development has a biodiversity net gain of double the City of London’s Urban Greening Factor target, underscoring its market-leading credentials.

Having completed their lease for the entirety of the 140,000 sq ft scheme, 1,200 staff of a major tech company are expected to move in on completion of their fit out in 2026.

The ground floor of the scheme has been reconfigured to provide a new internal thoroughfare, linking the Aldersgate frontage with Bartholomew’s Place and providing easy access to the Elizabeth Line at Farringdon.

Mark Kingston, Managing Director at Topland, said: “The completion of 150 Aldersgate marks the final milestone in one of the most ambitious schemes in recent memory in London. The space provides the tenant with the room to grow its UK workforce and contribute to the country’s economy.

“We’re proud of the role we’ve played bringing the scheme to life and remain committed to investing in ambitious, high-profile projects across the country that will be crucial to the UK’s economic growth.”

Sol Zakay, Chairman and CEO of Topland, said: “Our ambitions remain rooted in helping businesses across Britain access the space they need to grow and thrive. We are extremely proud to have reached completion of our Verdant development and continue to seek opportunities to invest in real estate, both directly and through our substantial lending platform, which we continue to grow.”

Topland Group, supported by Beltane Asset Management led on the development of the project, with Fletcher Priest Architects lead architect. Midgard were lead contractor and Opera project manager.
